At 6,400', Loon Lake Reservoir is rimmed by forests and picturesque granite boulders. There are several seasonal campgrounds and a boat ramp, and is a popular fishing location. It is accessible all year, but is frequently frozen in midwinter. The Loon Lake Chalet offers a warming room for Nordic skiers and snowshoers in the winter season.
