We're discontinuing incentives for new lighting upgrade projects. Lighting projects submitted prior to Aug.15, 2024 must be reserved by Sept. 1, 2024 and completed by June 30, 2025. All lighting projects submitted after Aug. 15, 2024 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be completed by Sept. 30, 2024. No extensions will be granted beyond these dates.
Custom Retrofit
Save carbon, energy, and money with SMUD Custom Retrofit program. Incentives are available for both electrification and energy efficiency projects in existing non-residential buildings. Combined electrification and energy efficiency incentives can be up to $250,000.
Go Electric Business
Our commitment to the environment is evident every day. It’s a part of our DNA. We are always looking to reduce our impact on the environment, improve regional air quality and conserve resources for future generations. Our energy efficiency programs include incentives to convert commercial natural gas fired appliances to efficient heat pump and induction technologies. Learn about our incentives.
