Supplier Success Story: Stanfield Systems, Inc.
Since January 2000, Stanfield Systems, Inc. (SSI) has provided information technology services across government, commercial and non-profit organizations throughout the United States. Through the benefit of our SEED program, SSI successfully teamed with several prime contractors in pursuit of SMUD contracting opportunities prior to winning their most recent Distribution Planning Software contract, with Integral Analytics listed as the prime contractor.
SSI has also successfully participated in numerous contracting opportunities over the past 23 years with over 35 satisfied clients and some engagements spanning over 12 years.
Carlos Costa, VP Business Development and Strategic Alliances from SSI, understands that processes, requirements and regulations in organizations change constantly and years of experience have helped them hone and highlight the way their services meet the industry’s needs.
Carlos’ advice to future vendors is to have patience and perseverance, and “a win will present itself when you least expect it.”

Substation construction: Meet the Primes event
Our procurement team recently released a Substation Construction solicitation valued at over $120M over a 5-year period. Bids for this contract, which include significant subcontracting opportunities, will be evaluated from 12 pre-qualified prime contractors. To support SMUD’s SEED subcontracting goal of at least 20% certified small business participation in final proposals, our team hosted a Meet the Primes event. This event, held at our Customer Service Center in July, provided an opportunity for over 30 subcontractors to meet and network with the 12 pre-qualified prime contractors bidding on the Substation Construction project. We look forward to the results of this solicitation and the potential economic impact it presents for our local small businesses!
